Fifty percent of all divorces are about money and 95 percent of all people over 65 in this country will be broke. If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, will you be able to retire with the lifestyle you dream of? Business coach and author Wendy Robbins is a leading expert on mastering the millionaire mindset, and how to manufacture and market ideas to millions.  She is author of the book, “Why Marry A Millionaire? Just Be One! (And While You’re At It, Change the World!” In her book she urges people to stop complaining about money and create a revolution.

Robbins also stars in TLC’s Homemade Millionaire TV Series with Kelly Ripa, showing women how to manufacture, distribute and pitch their invention to HSN.  The show debuted on November 19. Robbins is also the founder of Nowhere To Millionaire LLC, and the “1,000,000 fulfilled and financially free women making a difference.”

She has been on her own since she was 14.  She has been homeless, lived in a car and at another time in her life went from $10,000 debt to make millions by co-inventing and marketing The Tingler head massager. We recently sat down with Robbins to talk about her show and asked her to share some advice to our audience of widowed, divorced, and separated.

Tell us about Homemade Millionaire. How did it come about? Kelly Ripa gets hundreds of inventors sending her products weekly and she and her husband, Mark have a production company and decided to pitch the show to TLC.  One year later, we are on air!  What I love about it is we are making dreams come true.

There are many reality shows out there…what makes yours unique? What do you hope viewers can take away from it? No one gets booted off the island, or gets humiliated – instead of Shark Tank – we are Dolphin Tank.  It is inspirational and I get tons of emails from women who say they take notes because they learn so much.

You’ve had so much success as an entrepreneur—what drives you and how do you maintain this drive? My calling and purpose in life is to serve millions of women so we are fulfilled, financially free and making a difference.  Between my book and promoting the TV show it requires a lot of travel and it’s worth it because I believe I am getting closer to the goal of reaching millions.

You have a recently published book…why did you write this book? We had a break after shooting the first two episodes and during that time I wrote the book knowing viewers would have a lot of questions about the process of bringing ideas to market.  I really share step-by-step systems to make millions even if you are broke, just got laid off, or are new to being an entrepreneur.  I also created a coaching program that will launch mid December to make sure everyone is held by the hand and given all the tools they need to succeed and network with other likeminded women.

What can our audience of people who are divorced, widowed, or separated learn from your book? Well, 50% of all divorces are caused from money or lack of it and 3 out of 4 elderly women live in poverty in the USA.  So if you keep doing what you’ve been doing and expect different results, you are insane—you need to do whatever it takes to act to spite your fears and my book and coaching shows you exactly what to do.  You would do both when you absolutely need to make a million in 24 months or less and are ready to make a dramatic difference in your life by doing what you’re passionate about and being in service to others.

You’ve been through a lot of hardship in your life. So what advice do you have for those who are recently divorced, widowed, or separated to help them move on to the next phase of their life? Believe in yourself, network with positive supporters, get clear on your chief aim or burning desire, find a huge why to keep you motivated and be persistent.

Who has inspired or motivated you in your life? Katherine Hepburn—I always admired her and met her as an actress. She liked me enough to ask me to audition on a Broadway stage.  I was terrible.  What good came out of that is I decided to live in New York and got into The Juilliard School for acting.  3,500 auditioned and only 25 get in!

You must be extremely busy. So how do you stay active in your life and what do you most enjoy about this time in your life? I’m in profound gratitude for all the blessings coming my way.  I get to teach, coach, write, star in a TV series, run a growing empire with people I care about, live in solitude—we have 1,000 acres as a backyard in a remote area, with a nearby river, gorge, natural hot springs. Life is very sweet right now and yeah it’s busy, so I get to meditate, or re-focus a lot on planes.

What are your future goals? What’s next for you? In January, I launch my coaching program… I’m very excited!  So many said they wanted it and I am able to offer a 50% discount for those who act quickly to be founding members. In February, we are creating Tingle Global Media.  We will reach 100 million women who are progressive, smart, educated, 24 to ageless who are creative and into sustainable living.  We align with cool sponsors and advertisers who pay writers, artists, healers, environmental folks, and entrepreneurs to create original content.
