Pittsburgh AI Camp has officially been announced, bringing an exciting new tech camp for teens to Pittsburgh this summer. This new concept melds together the fun of a summer camp, the excitement of leading-edge tech, and lucrative rewards including cash prizes for what will soon be an unforgettable experience for local teens.
There’s no experience required to join, and teens of all ages are invited. The team at Pittsburgh AI Camp notes that this will be a fun, immersive, and positive experience for all teens and would like to welcome neurodivergent teens to come enjoy everything the camp has to offer. Over the course of three months, campers will meet remotely via Discord, GitHub, and through Huddles on Zoom three times per week. Team leaders will be available on Discord and during office hours to help navigate teens through the camp.
The camp will flex and deepen students’ knowledge in OpenAI, Python, and Meta AI with the culmination of a completed app. “We’ll be going step by step as a camp until every student has a working application,” said a spokesperson for Pittsburgh AI Camp.
Project Bundles will give students problem-solving opportunities with cash bounties and bonuses. Top students will be invited to the Big League, which is a week-long hackathon in which the top team will receive $1,000.
On Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4-6pm, Assemble Pittsburgh will sponsor the Pittsburgh AI Camp Pregame, in which teens will put their coding skills on display while enjoying pizza and a special prize. Pittsburgh AI Camp will officially launch on June 17, 2024, and will run through August 17, 2024. “We invite local teens to earn up to $1,000 just with programming with Python and OpenAI,” said a spokesperson for the camp.
