Wine, Spirits & Other Drinks

WHE 2010 NV ChardonnayWilliam Hill Estate Chardonnay

Chardonnay is California’s mostly widely planted grape variety and it is also America’s most popular wine choice with consumers.  Of all the regions in California, none is as prestigious as the Napa Valley. Located in the southeastern corner of Napa on a series of rolling hills, William Hill Estate produces a classic Napa Valley Chardonnay: full-bodied, richly fruity and with hints of vanilla and spice from oak aging. The Napa Valley Chardonnay also has excellent acidity, which balances the wine and makes it very refreshing. The Winery also produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but it is best known in the press and with consumers for its excellent premium Chardonnays.

Linie Aquavit has been Norway’s most prestigious and exclusive aquavit for over 200 years. From maturing in oak casks previously used to age sherry, Linie Aquavit acquires a hint of sherry flavor. Linie’s casks cross the equator twice on ocean ships over a four-month voyage under conditions that create the smoothest aquavit. It’s made from potato spirit, with notes of caraway, aniseed, sherry and vanilla, which create a rich, herbal flavor.

Let the party get started!  These extraordinary shot glasses have the finely veined, translucent appearance of rose quartz, but actually are carved from the finest quality, food grade Himalayan pink salt. These glasses naturally add the perfect nuanced, salty note to your favorite tequila. No need for messy table salt, just serve with lime wedges for a bite of citrus tartness.

And be warned – your shot will get saltier the longer it sits – so drink up!  Then wipe dry between each use (to keep a bit of salty brine from forming) and you are ready for another. Salt is a long-lasting, naturally anti-bacterial mineral so these glasses require just a little care to become your favorite party starter for years to come. Do not put in the dishwasher, simply wipe dry between each use.

Holding 1.5 ounce, these shot glasses come in boxed sets of four available online exclusively at www.uncommongoods.com  for $30 or can be ordered in quantities for resale by contacting sales@thespicelab.com
